近年來,成都三十七中十分重視國(guó)際教育活動(dòng),通過舉辦講座、開設(shè)國(guó)際理解教育課程、與國(guó)外學(xué)校簽訂友好合作協(xié)議、舉行國(guó)際交流等活動(dòng),進(jìn)一步提升學(xué)校的國(guó)際化水平,開拓師生視野。
2015年舉行了“走進(jìn)同一課堂,共享中西文化”大型國(guó)際教育活動(dòng),與美國(guó)紐約坦布里克學(xué)院簽訂了友好協(xié)議,2017年4月,英語(yǔ)創(chuàng)新路演研討會(huì)在學(xué)校成功舉行,英國(guó)量子物理學(xué)家Ben Murdin 本.莫爾丁教授到學(xué)校講學(xué)。同時(shí),通過國(guó)際交流,激發(fā)了學(xué)生出國(guó)留學(xué)的熱情與愿望。2016年馬國(guó)豪、楊姣、廖若雯等分別被澳大利亞悉尼大學(xué)、馬來西亞博特拉大學(xué)、加拿大西門弗雷澤大學(xué)錄取。
關(guān)于這次英語(yǔ)創(chuàng)新路演研討會(huì),外籍教師Marjorie 董曼珍有話說:
成都三十七中的這次研討會(huì)是非常成功的。來這些參與的學(xué)生們,原本他們的英語(yǔ)能力和自信度都很一般,但是,很明顯的是這些學(xué)生都積極的參與并努力的走出他們的舒適區(qū),用批判性思維來向聽眾表達(dá)自己的想法。不管他們的英語(yǔ)能力如何,就從當(dāng)天的研討會(huì)來說,所有的學(xué)生在這個(gè)項(xiàng)目中都獲得了自信并用英語(yǔ)來表達(dá)了自己的觀點(diǎn)。在每個(gè)小組討論環(huán)節(jié),我號(hào)召每個(gè)組的不同組員都來總結(jié)他們小組的討論結(jié)果,這樣給了每位學(xué)生參與練習(xí)的機(jī)會(huì)。最后的呈現(xiàn)是非常讓人印象深刻的,因?yàn)閷W(xué)生們的準(zhǔn)備時(shí)間是那么有限,只是在午飯后一個(gè)多小時(shí)不到的時(shí)間里。在活動(dòng)開始的時(shí)候,學(xué)生們對(duì)“路演”毫無所知,對(duì)一些商業(yè)的學(xué)術(shù)用語(yǔ)更是從未接觸過。但是,在最后的呈現(xiàn)里,學(xué)生們都運(yùn)用到了這些術(shù)語(yǔ)。盡管最后的呈現(xiàn)打磨的還不夠完美,但是他們卻在路演中對(duì)這些商業(yè)模式,目標(biāo)聽眾,和公司的位置等方面進(jìn)行了很好的理解。最后的陳述是學(xué)生們對(duì)今天所學(xué)所用的最好呈現(xiàn),他們應(yīng)該為他們的表現(xiàn)感到自豪。我非常喜歡和三十七中孩子們的合作并期待將來的合作!
Marjorie 董曼珍:
The workshop at Chengdu No. 37 High School was very successful. In general, there was quite a range in English language abilities and confidence speaking among the student participants. However, it is clear that students were very willing to learn and venture outside their comfort zones to think critically and express their thoughts to the audience in English. Regardless of English ability, over the course of the day, all students seemed to gain confidence with the subject matter and expressing these ideas in English. After each small group discussion session, I made a point of calling on different students from each group to summarize their group’s discussion, thus giving every student an opportunity to participate.The presentations at the end were very impressive, especially because students only had little more than an hour to prepare after lunchtime. At the very beginning of the day, none of the students knew what a “pitch” was and there were many business terms that they had never been exposed to before. However, by the end of the workshop, the students were applying these terms in their own pitch presentations. The final presentations were not perfectly polished, however they showed a true understanding of the business models, target audience, and positioning of the companies being covered. The final presentations demonstrated true effort and understanding of the material on the part of the students, and they should all be proud of the final product.I truly enjoyed working with your school and students. I look forward to future collaboration!
